Fireworks Take Toll at Holiday Displays
Fireworks exploding during a Fourth of July display in Harvey Cedars, N.J., ignited bushes and injured four people. A firefighter was severely hurt, and three people involved in setting off the display also were taken to a hospital with minor injuries. None of the 3,000 spectators were injured. Meanwhile, in Milwaukee, a 32-year-old man lost a thumb and three fingers when fireworks exploded in his hands, and in another fireworks-related incident, a 21-year-old man lost his thumb and injured several fingers in Oconomowoc, Wis., about 20 miles west of Milwaukee.
