The Southern California Veterinary Medical Assn. and Los Angeles Animal Service have scheduled a low-cost, anti-rabies vaccination clinic for dogs and cats on Thursday.

The clinic will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at North Hollywood Recreation Center, 5301 Tujunga Ave. All dogs must be on a leash and cats in pet carriers.

In addition to the anti-rabies vaccinations, a general once-a-year, six-in-one vaccination for dogs will be available. Two other common dog vaccines, coronavirus and bordetella, may also be obtained at the clinic.

For cats, an annual four-in-one vaccine will be available as well as the anti-rabies vaccine.

State, county and city ordinances require that dogs 4 months of age and older be vaccinated against rabies.

Rabies inoculations provide three years protection for dogs and cats that are 1 year of age and older. Dogs, 4 to 11 months old, and cats, 3 to 11 months old, are protected for one year.
