Airports Expansion Is Topic of Summit

To inform the business community about possible impact from regional airport expansion, the Valley Industry Commerce Assn. will host an Aviation Summit and general membership luncheon on Friday.

Those wishing to attend should contact the association by Wednesday. The summit and luncheon will be from 11:45 a.m to 1:45 p.m. in the producers-directors dining room at the Sheraton Universal Hotel, 333 Universal Terrace Parkway.

A large contingent of legislators, aviation administrators and economic analysts are scheduled to attend the event to discuss how the future expansion of airports will effect the Valley economy.

Invited summit speakers and panelists include Reps. Howard Berman (D-Mission Hills), Howard “Buck” McKeon (R-Santa Clarita) and Brad Sherman (D-Woodland Hills).

Airport officials scheduled to participate include Jack Driscoll, executive director of L.A. World Airports; Tom Greer, executive director of Burbank Airport; and Brad Mims, an assistant government and industry representative from the Federal Aviation Administration.
