Cyclist Struck, Killed at Light
A 32-year-old motorcyclist was killed early Saturday when he was rear-ended by a taxi at a Huntington Beach intersection, police said.
Adam J. Summers of Surfside had stopped at a red light on northbound Pacific Coast Highway at Seapoint Avenue shortly before 4 a.m. when he was hit, said Huntington Beach Police Sgt. Dan Johnson.
Summers, a lieutenant with the Seal Beach Lifeguard Department, was thrown from his 1984 Kawasaki motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Johnson said investigators didn’t find any indication that alcohol was involved in the crash. The cab driver, Michelle Marchman, 37, of Huntington Beach, was not arrested.
