Nick Van Exel for Tyronn Lue and Tony Battie? Two young unproven players for an all-star on the third-best team in the NBA? Sure, Van Exel was temperamental and inconsistent, but he had made great strides this past season and, most important, he is the only one on the team who has the nerve and the ability to take the big shot in the clutch.
I guess we’ll see how this trade works out. I just hope that Laker management knows what they’re doing and doesn’t turn this team into the Dodgers.
