An Oxnard man was stabbed several times early Friday morning outside a McDonald’s restaurant, police said.
Richard Lopez, 35, was standing in the restaurant’s parking lot at 3121 Saviers Road about 1 a.m. when he approached a red car, Oxnard Police Officer Robin Brunson said.
The driver left the vehicle and stabbed Lopez in the abdomen and arm, Brunson said.
The attacker and passenger then drove away, Brunson said.
Lopez was in good condition Friday night at Ventura County Medical Center, where he was taken after being driven by a restaurant customer to St. John’s Regional Medical Center, a county nursing supervisor said.
It was unclear why Lopez approached the car or what the assailant’s motive was, officers said. There had been no arrests Friday night, and McDonald’s employees said they had not seen the stabbing.
