Victim Is Sought in Nude Driving Case

Investigators know where to find a man suspected of driving nude and exposing himself to another driver. All they’re missing is the victim to build the case.
The California Highway Patrol is searching for the woman who used her cellular phone June 7 to report lewd acts by another motorist on Interstate 5.
The incident occurred from 5 to 5:35 p.m. that day as the woman was driving south on the freeway near Oso Parkway with her children, CHP spokeswoman Joan Rivas said. The woman told authorities she had noticed another motorist, in a mid-sized gold car lacking a rear license plate, driving erratically and trying to get her attention, Rivas said. When the woman looked into the other car, she told authorities she saw a nude driver engaging in lewd acts, Rivas said.
The woman called 911 and reported the incident before exiting the freeway at Oso Parkway. Officers pulled over a suspect soon after and questioned, but did not arrest him.
Investigators said the suspect, whose name was not released, is a registered sex offender and had been arrested following a similar incident in May 1997.
The CHP is looking for the victim, or anyone else who may have information, to build a new case against the suspect.
Anyone with information should call CHP investigating officers M.J. Gamblin or S.A. Doumas at (949) 487-4000.
