OJAI — A 28-year-old Los Angeles woman was airlifted out of Los Padres National Forest after becoming lost while hiking in Upper Ojai, sheriff’s deputies said Tuesday.
A helicopter crew from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department was contacted about 12:30 p.m. Monday after a man reported that he had been separated from his girlfriend while hiking near Pine Camp, deputies said.
Within minutes of responding, the helicopter crew spotted Kristy Kang about three miles north of the intersection of Thatcher and Thatcher School roads, deputies said. Kang was uninjured and in good condition.
She was airlifted to the Sheriff’s Honor Farm in Ojai, where she was reunited with her boyfriend, Leonardo Bravo, also of Los Angeles, deputies said.
