Orthopedic Hospital, UCLA in Joint Venture
- Share via
Orthopedic Hospital and UCLA have completed a deal that includes the construction of a new orthopedic specialty hospital in Santa Monica and renovation of the current Orthopedic Hospital in downtown Los Angeles. Under the deal, UCLA and Orthopedic Hospital will spend a total of more than $200 million to build a new orthopedic hospital at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center. All surgical and inpatient services now performed at the downtown facility will be moved to Santa Monica by about 2003, when the new hospital is expected to be completed. The downtown hospital, which was damaged in the Northridge earthquake, will continue to provide outpatient services and will add programs in pediatrics, women’s health and family medicine, staffed by UCLA doctors.
