Fiset Back in Net Against Chicago
After missing Thursday’s 5-3 victory over Calgary because of an upper-thigh bruise, goaltender Stephane Fiset will start today when the Kings play the Chicago Blackhawks at the Great Western Forum.
Fiset, who was injured Tuesday, practiced Friday and, despite some soreness, showed enough for Coach Larry Robinson to name him today’s starter.
Fiset is 4-1-1 in his last six home starts and 17-14-7 overall.
Despite having won his last three starts and with a shutout victory over Chicago this season, Jamie Storr will not back up Fiset. That will fall to Frederic Chabot, who was recalled from the International Hockey League on Thursday.
Chabot is expected to get his seventh NHL start this season during one of the successive games the Kings will play at Edmonton and Calgary early next week.
