* Servite at Santa Ana, 3 p.m. Friday: Servite was ranked fifth in the county after winning its first 12 games. The Friars lost three of their next five, including two in the Golden West League to Santa Ana and Saddleback, and are unranked. But if the Friars beat No. 7 Santa Ana, they would overtake Santa Ana for second place and move closer to clinching a playoff berth.
* El Toro at Newport Beach, 3 p.m., Friday: El Toro didn’t make the playoffs last season and started slowly this year, but the unranked Chargers (7-8-1, 3-1-1) hold the Sea View League lead by a point over Woodbridge, Santa Margarita and Newport Harbor. Forward Julian Gaitan has keyed the Chargers’ resurgence.
