Milhizer Quits as La Habra Football Coach
Rich Milhizer has resigned as football coach at La Habra, citing “philosophical differences” with Principal Jim Robinson and his administration. The Highlanders were 7-3 in 1996, but 2-7-1 this season. Milhizer’s five-year record was 19-31-1.
Milhizer is a history teacher at La Habra.

Rasuli Webster, a first-team all-county defensive back at Brea Olinda, has committed to play football at Oregon, Wildcat assistant coach Rob Perrance said. Webster returned four interceptions for touchdowns and also played at running back for Brea.

Carolyn Kittell, a freshman volleyball player at Cal State Fullerton, will transfer to Oklahoma in the fall, according to her former coach, Laguna Beach’s Vickie Gentry.
Kittell was a member of the 1996 Laguna Beach Southern Section championship team and co-MVP of the section.
A setter, Kittell was a Big West second-team selection and named to the conference’s all-freshman team this season.

Huntington Beach High School has hired three coaches, Amie Stewart (softball), Keith Mayeshiro (girls’ track and field) and Jeff Russ (boys’ and girls’ swimming), Athletic Director Dave Van Hoorebeke said.
Stewart, a former standout pitcher at Nevada Las Vegas, coached at La Mirada last year. Mayeshiro and Russ were assistants at Huntington Beach last year.
