Placentia Man Shot in Both Legs; Police Suspect Gang Attack
PLACENTIA — A 23-year-old Placentia man was shot in both legs Tuesday, apparently in a drive-by attack, police said.
The victim, whose name was withheld, was treated at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Placentia Police Investigator Corrine Loomis said.
Officers responding to a 2 p.m. report of shots fired in the 300 block of East Center Street found the victim lying in the street, Loomis said. Witnesses reported that the gunfire came from a passing compact car, Loomis said. Police believe the attack was gang-related, the officer said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at (714) 993-8164.
