Brea Olinda Trustees Elect Sokol President
Trustee Susie D. Sokol has been appointed president of the Brea Olinda Unified School District Board of Education for 1998, succeeding Barbara R. Paxton in the top job.
The position of president rotates among board members each year. As president, Sokol will represent the district at special functions and chair the twice-monthly board meetings.
Sokol, 53, was elected to the school board in 1988 and served as its president in 1991 and 1993. She is in the second year of a four-year term.
Sokol, a pharmacist, was appointed by a unanimous vote, and trustee Kenneth A. Kegel was named board vice president for the year.
