Gay Sailor
Robert Scheer introduces a thought-provoking point regarding the sailor the Navy is attempting to discharge for homosexuality based on the word “gay” in his America Online profile (Column Left, Jan. 20). Of the two Tim McVeighs who have served in the military and gained notoriety, which one was deemed “incompatible with military service”? The baby-killing, anti-government heterosexual? Or the possibly homosexual AOL user with 17 years of honorable service, awards and decorations who organized charity drives for his fellow sailors?
