What Are You Drinking?
“Years ago I worked for Joe Heitz, and for my 50th birthday a couple of months ago, I opened a bottle of 1968 ‘Martha’s Vineyard’ Cabernet. It was one of the most wonderful wines I’ve had in my life. It is probably one of the best Cabernets ever made in California. I’d say it was at peak drinkability but with a lot of life left in it. It was youthful, but had the maturity that a 30-year-old wine has.”
