Early Surge Boosts Santa Clara
Santa Clara High jumped out to a 14-point lead after one quarter and held on for a 60-51 victory over Nordhoff in a Frontier League game Monday night at Santa Clara.
B.J. Ward scored 18 points and Ryan McGill added 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Saints (8-9, 2-3 in league play).
Andy Flores came off the bench for 18 points to lead the Rangers (1-4 in league play). Nordhoff’s 7-foot center Chris Christofferson, was held to seven points.

Montclair Prep 66, Yeshiva 53--Rocky Steryo made nine of 21 shots en route to 24 points and Kevin Bentley grabbed 15 rebounds for the fifth-ranked Mounties (19-3) in a nonleague victory over previously unbeaten Yeshiva (13-1) at Montclair Prep.
Geoff Hull had 13 points for the Mounties, winners of 13 in a row.
Bell-Jeff 64, La Salle 59--Ruben Douglas had 30 points and 11 rebounds and Mike West had 22 points and 13 rebounds for the Guards (12-11, 4-2) in a Santa Fe League victory at La Salle.
Providence 59, Windward 55--Apollo Kacsinta scored six of his 14 points in overtime, and Xavier Quimbo finished with 22 points for the Pioneers (5-11, 3-5).
