Big Ten Taking Over the Poll
Although five teams in the AP poll are from the Big Ten, the team that sits atop the conference standings only moved into the Top 25 this week.
Michigan State, leading the Big Ten at 6-1, enters this week at No. 22.
Duke and North Carolina stayed Nos. 1 and 2, while Utah and Stanford moved up one spot to third and fourth.
UCLA and Connecticut swapped eighth and ninth.

State District Judge Robert Robles rejected a preliminary injunction that would have reinstated ousted New Mexico State University coach Neil McCarthy. And Robles dismissed claims for damages against New Mexico State President William Conroy and Athletic Director Jim Paul. . . . Sam Okey, the Big Ten freshman of the year two seasons ago who quit the Wisconsin basketball team Jan. 13, has transferred to Iowa. . . . Idaho State Coach Herb Williams, with his team mired in a 5-13 season, announced he will resign at the end of the season.
