Rev. Jesse Jackson to Speak at Forum
A keynote speech by the Rev. Jesse Jackson will highlight a communitywide forum on race relations and the state of the country hosted Sunday by Temple Kol Tikvah in Woodland Hills.
Other discussion topics will focus on the priorities of Americans, workers’ rights and black/Jewish relations, organizers said.
Synagogue officials said the temple has a history of supporting interfaith and interracial relations. Sunday’s event is one in a series of efforts to bring together people of different faiths and races. A similar event held earlier this month was a joint tribute to spiritual leaders Martin Luther King Jr. and Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel.
Sunday’s free public forum will begin at 4 p.m. at the temple, 20400 Ventura Blvd.
