Police Arrest 2 Suspects in Spate of Carjackings
Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a series of Beverly Hills carjackings, police said.
Police arrested Lamar Edward Price, 26, of Los Angeles, on Thursday, said Lt. Edward Kreins of the Beverly Hills Police Department. Los Angeles resident Dale Chatman Williams, 20, also is being held.
Price is suspected in carjackings in Beverly Hills on Dec. 17, Jan. 5 and Jan. 14, Kreins said. In all the cases, the robber confronted middle-aged or elderly female drivers and forcibly took their keys during daylight hours.
A late-model Buick LeSabre and two Mercedes Benzes were stolen in the crimes.
Kreins said police connected the suspects to the crimes when Williams allegedly sold the three stolen vehicles to undercover officers from another police agency.
