Child psychologist Sylvia Rimm will offer strategies for parents and teachers on how to tutor and motivate students at all levels and guide underachieving pupils to do well. The public event, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, is sponsored by Capistrano Unified School District and the county Council for Gifted and Talented Education at Wood Canyon Elementary, 23431 Knollwood, Aliso Viejo. STAR-GAZING--Learn about the constellations and see planets through a telescope from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Rancho Mission Viejo Land Conservancy, 31872 Los Rios, San Juan Capistrano. THE ARTS--The seventh Valentine’s Day fund-raising dinner and auction for Orange County High School of the Arts will be Feb. 14.
