COLLEGE BASKETBALL AT A GLANCE / DAILY REPORT : Bailey Has Become a Study in Efficiency
Senior guard Toby Bailey, after a few impatient performances in early January, has put together one of the most efficient four-game streaks of his career, culminating in his 16-point (on seven-for-nine shooting), six-assist effort against USC on Wednesday in only 25 minutes.
In the recent stretch, dating to UCLA’s victory over Oregon on Jan. 10, Bailey has made nine of 18 three-point tries (to increase his three-point percentage from 24.6 to 30.4), hasn’t scored fewer than 16 points in any game, and has averaged five rebounds and four assists.
Excluding his seven-for-24 shooting effort against Stanford, which involved several missed offensive rebound tips, Bailey has made 66.7% of his shots (18 for 27) in the period.
