Harrison’s Shot for Portland Beats StingRays
PORTLAND, Ore. — Lisa Harrison hit a 17-foot jump shot with seven seconds to play to lead the Portland Power to a 66-64 win over the Long Beach StingRays on Thursday night.
Harrison blocked Niesa Johnson’s 12-footer as time ran out.
Natalie Williams had a game-high 23 points and 21 rebounds for Portland (20-15), which is only four percentage points behind the StingRays (19-14) in the ABL’s Western Conference race.
Yolanda Griffith scored 19 points and had 11 rebounds to lead the StingRays. Niesa Johnson added 12 points and Cass Bauer had 10.
Williams’ layup with 1:20 to play gave Portland a 64-62 lead, but Johnson had a breakaway layup with 31 seconds left to tie it at 64.
