LAPD Cites 30 Students in Crackdown on Truancy

The students were cited for truancy and ordered to appear in court with a parent or a guardian, where they will face fines of up to $700 and then returned their schools.
“Word on the street is that we’re out there and we’re taking them back to class,†said Det. Richard Simmons. “Kids can learn only when they are school and that’s where we want them to be.â€
