O.C. Puts Financial Data, Recordings on Its Web Site

Information about Orange County’s budget, bankruptcy recovery efforts and other financial matters is now just a click of the mouse away.
County officials recently placed dozens of financial documents on its Web site, including audits, balance sheets, cash-flow statements and summaries of the county’s 1997-98 budget.
Those who click onto the new service can hear recordings of County Chief Financial Officer Gary Burton making a presentation to potential county bond investors.
Burton said the Web site is designed to provide more information about the county’s recovery from bankruptcy both for residents and members of the financial community, who frequently request such data.
“This is one location where people can access the information we have compiled,” Burton said.
