3 Young Authors Win Writing Contest
Three young writers from Irvine, Garden Grove and Cerritos have been named top winners in the “Adventures in the Library†short story contest sponsored by the Orange County Public Library and the Irvine Barclay Theatre.
Kali Zhou, 11, of Irvine was honored for “The Imagination Warriorsâ€; Matthew J. Taylor, 11, of Garden Grove won for his story “Henry’s Schooldaysâ€; and Rajeny Chacko, 12, of Cerritos won for “The Mysterious Hungry Monster in Bookland.†Rajeny is a two-time winner.
The top three writers received tickets to an upcoming performance of “Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing,†based on the book by Judy Blume, at the Irvine Barclay Theatre.
