Sylmar Family Robbed in Home at Gunpoint by 3 Masked Men
SYLMAR — Three men wearing ski masks entered a home through an open garage door, held a family at gunpoint, and escaped with an undetermined amount of money and jewelry, Los Angeles police said Sunday.
No one was seriously hurt in the robbery, which occurred about 8 p.m. Friday in the 14000 block of El Casco Street, police said.
The robbers punched two family members in the face while trying to make them comply with orders to get down on the floor, police said.
Police said the robbers may have been casing the neighborhood when they saw one of the family members return home and leave the garage door open.
The victims told detectives that one of the robbers was armed, possibly with a sawed-off shotgun.
No arrests had been made by late Sunday.
