High-Tech Hangout Hangs Out Shingle
Thinking about trying out some exciting new Web technologies but your computer’s holding you back? Or maybe you’ve heard about the World Wide Web but you don’t know what it’s all about?
Well, hold on to your seats, because there’s a new Internet facility coming to town. WebMetro is hosting an open house Friday for its 5,000-square-foot cyber cafe in Pasadena. Each work space is a semiprivate cubicle with souped-up computers and 17-inch monitors. Connections are lightning-fast T-1s, and the service counter has Jaz and zip drives, scanners and a CD burner for hire. The center will also offer classes for newbies. The open house, from 6 to 9 p.m. at 2 N. Lake Ave., Suite 100, will include demonstrations and tours. For more information, call (626) 793-8047, or go to https://www.webmetro.com
