Got mittens and a down jacket? Then you’re probably dressed about right for the first annual Magnificent Mile Crystal Carnival in Chicago on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.
During the event, at least 14 ice sculptures, including a 25-foot-tall “crystal castle” at the John Hancock Center, will rise along Chicago’s upscale retail street, Michigan Avenue, between Wacker Drive and Oak Street. There also will be children’s activities, a treasure hunt and other events. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Jan. 31 and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 1. Free admission. Information: (312) 642-3570.
