City Cable Station Expanding to 24 Hours

As the city’s cable television station celebrates its 15th anniversary, plans are underway to expand to 24-hour programming.
HBTV-3 will grow from its 12-hour schedule on Feb. 1, said Rich Barnard, deputy city administrator.
“We’ve wanted to do this for a long time,” Barnard said. “It’s part of our effort to improve the service to the community and upgrade our programming.”
Since its first transmission in 1983, the station has offered live coverage of City Council and Planning Commission meetings, along with programs about public safety and local issues.
The expanded schedule will include documentaries, concerts, movies and city-produced shows.
