Small Area Changes Water District to Irvine Ranch

To smooth the boundary between them, a small piece of the Mesa Consolidated Water District was annexed Wednesday to the Irvine Ranch Water District.
The action was taken by the Local Agency Formation Commission because its members did not think it was logical for Mesa Consolidated to serve 181 residents in Santa Ana Heights. Irvine Ranch serves the land surrounding the area.
Last year, Irvine Ranch took over the Santa Ana Heights Water Co., a private water company that had served Santa Ana Heights for 75 years.
