Hearing on Measure M Road Projects Planned
- Share via
The annual public hearing of the Measure M Citizens Oversight Committee will begin at 6 tonight at the Orange County Transportation Authority, 550 S. Main St., Room 103, in Orange.
At issue is whether OCTA is meeting provisions of Measure M, the half-cent transportation sales tax approved by voters in 1990. Made up of resident volunteers, committee members are recruited and interviewed by the Grand Jurors Assn. of Orange County.
At the meeting, an update of the committee’s activities during the last year will be provided and the public will have an opportunity to comment.
During the last year, Measure M projects have included the El Toro Y interchange expansion project; improvements to the Costa Mesa Freeway between 17th Street and the Garden Grove Freeway interchange; and a study of a proposed light-rail system between Fullerton and Irvine.
In addition, more than $100 million has been provided to Orange County cities and the county for road improvements. Information: (714) 560-5663.
