Leaf Blowers

Wow! A third of a page (Jan. 6) in a display of sympathy for the poor, put-upon gardeners who are willing to starve themselves rather than accede to the will of the majority. The rest of the world will be duly impressed by the cosmic significance of this event.
Don’t they realize that it’s not the leaf blower to which so many of us object. It’s the noise! So the survival of the business is simply a matter of reducing the noise by muffling, running at much less than full power or converting to electric blowers. Come on now, that’s not so hard to understand.
If the people think the police will enforce the ban, they are mistaken. My city has had a ban for years and enforcement is nil!
How about equal time for stay-at-homes (those bedridden, or working at home or retired,) whose days are constantly disrupted by the incessant noise generated by these obnoxious machines?
