A 30-year-old Oxnard laborer was found dead inside a van early Saturday, officials said.
The body was discovered by a passerby just after 9:30 a.m. near Harrison Avenue and Cooper Road, said Deputy Coroner Mitch Breese.
The man had not been dead long, Breese said, adding that the laborer may have died from natural causes or from an overdose. Alcohol was found next to the body.
The coroner’s office withheld the man’s name until his next of kin could be notified. The cause of death will not be known until toxicology tests are completed, Breese said.
