Cholera Kills 14 People in Malawi, Official Says

BLANTYRE, Malawi — A cholera outbreak has killed 14 people in the northern district of Nkhata Bay on the shores of Lake Malawi, a health official said Friday.
Health services controller Chalamira Nkhoma said 80 cases of cholera and 14 deaths had been reported since Dec. 1.
He also said that 470 cases of bubonic plague had been reported in central and southern Malawi, bordering Mozambique, but no deaths.
