Fairfax Adult School to Offer Classes on Sunday
- Share via
In deference to the Jewish community, the Fairfax Adult School will offer classes on Sunday in computer literacy, exercise, English as a second language, and a parenting course taught in English, Russian and Spanish.
It is the first school in the Los Angeles Unified School District to offer Sunday courses.
The majority of the school’s students are over 50 years old and 60% are Jewish.
About 6,000 students are enrolled at the school at 7850 Melrose Ave. Classes are held from 8 a.m. to 9:15 p.m.
Starting Feb. 1, the school will offer classes in acting and in preparation for the California Basic Educational Skills Test, which is used to certify state teachers.
