A North Hollywood man pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of illegally firing a pistol on New Year’s Eve.
Jaime Napoleon Giron, 25, was charged with one count each of firing a gun inside the Los Angeles city limits, illegal possession of a loaded gun and negligent discharge of a firearm, said Mike Qualls, a spokesman for the city attorney’s office.
According to investigators, neighbors called police about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday to Giron’s apartment complex on Vanowen Street after they saw him walk into the courtyard and fire a pistol into the air at least three times.
Officers discovered a pistol inside a toilet tank in Giron’s apartment, according to John Rocke, deputy city attorney.
Giron faces up to two years in county jail and $3,000 in fines, Qualls said.
