Housing for Seniors on Council Docket
A proposal to build 16 apartments for senior citizens on a 1/2-acre Golden Avenue parcel will be considered tonight by the City Council.
The property is zoned for commercial use, although it has size and access problems that have made it undesirable for such development, city planning officials said.
Allowing the land to be used for a senior apartment complex would fit better with existing housing and zoning in the area, planners said.
The council also will consider giving police officers a 2.5% pay raise and benefit increases.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers, 401 E. Chapman Ave. Information: (714) 993-8231.
