Domestic Violence Is Topic of Forum

Options and help for getting battered women and children out of abusive relationships will be discussed Sunday at a Forum on Domestic Violence, sponsored by Jewish Women’s International.
Gail Pincus, executive director of the Domestic Abuse Center in Northridge, will be the featured speaker at the forum, which will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the West Valley Jewish Community Center, 22622 Vanowen St.
The forum will include discussion of the Domestic Abuse Response Team, formed three years ago in a collaboration between the abuse center and the Los Angeles Police Department’s Van Nuys Division.
DART pairs officers with volunteers who are trained to comfort victims of domestic violence.
