Teen Driver Killed, 2 Critically Hurt as Car Hits Pole

HUNTINGTON BEACH — One teenager died and two others were critically injured when the car they were riding in ran off the road and struck a telephone pole Wednesday night, police said.
The 17-year-old boy driving the car was taken to Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, where he died of his injuries, police said. The other teens, a boy and a girl, were transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange with critical injuries, police said. Their names were not released.
