‘Steel Magnolias’ Auditions Scheduled

The theater departments of Santa Ana and Santiago Canyon colleges are seeking student actors to audition for parts in Robert Harling’s “Steel Magnolias.”
The comedy opens May 7 and plays through May 17 at the Santiago Canyon College Drama Lab in Orange. Auditions will be held March 9 and 10 at 7 p.m. in Phillips Hall on the Santa Ana College campus, 1530 W. 17th St.
The drama is set in Chinquapin, La., where the town’s prominent women get their hair done at Truvy’s salon. The play centers on six women as they gossip about their innermost feelings while fixing their hair.
