Road Closure Will Likely Be Extended

THOUSAND OAKS — A road near Janss mall may be closed through the end of next week because of a 10-foot sinkhole that developed after this week’s torrential storm, officials said Thursday.
City crews will need at least that long to repair Hillcrest Drive between Moorpark Road and Conejo Boulevard and to replace 85 feet of a 30-inch corroded storm drain, said Sheriff’s Sgt. Claude Robillard.
Damage from Monday’s storm was estimated at more than $100,000, and for a time Tuesday nearby residents and businesses were without water because a water main inside the sinkhole snapped.
