After Nearly 20 Years, Park to Get Restrooms

After nearly 20 years of operating without them, the city plans to build restrooms at Little Cottonwood Park.
City staff members said the restrooms--for men and women--will cost $140,000 to $150,000.
The city will seek bids in May from construction firms and work could be completed by September, said Mark Wagner, recreation manager for the city.
Little Cottonwood, the English translation of Los Alamitos, opened in 1979.
Since then, the park at 4000 Farquhar Avenue has become the city’s premier recreation area and is heavily used by Little League, youth soccer and other organized sports activities.
Portable toilets now serve the park.
