Carol Erickson Neary; Hospital Social Worker

Carol Erickson Neary, a social worker and Ventura native, died Feb. 18 in Stockbridge, Ga., following a brief illness. She was 46.
Born Aug. 1, 1951, in Ventura, she graduated from Cabrillo Middle School and Ventura High School. Neary began her career working at Camarillo State Hospital.
For the last nine years, she was a social service technician principal for Pine Woods Crisis Stabilization Program of the McIntosh Trail Mental Health-Mental Retardation-Substance Abuse Community Service Board in Georgia. She was a past member of First Lutheran Church of Ventura.
She is survived by her mother, Georgia Erickson of Ventura; her grandmother, Vera Dorrough of Santa Paula; an uncle and many cousins.
Friends may pay their respects from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road in Ventura. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura.
