Guns and Violence on the Freeways
* There was grim irony in your Feb. 16 articles on anti-gun activists and the two women being shot on the freeways.
The California Rifle and Pistol Assn. attorney said what is needed in Orange County is “self-reliance” and “guns for self-defense.
His theory would mean these women--alone, at night, driving at freeway speeds--should have driven with one hand on the wheel and one hand blazing away with an assault weapon to defend themselves from a coward they couldn’t see--behind them, in the dark, with a gun, shooting without warning!
Instead of more guns, isn’t it time just to do something simple, like reduce the number of guns? But, of course, that might cut into somebody’s profits.
