Cal Lutheran Women Grab Another Conference Title

The Cal Lutheran women’s basketball team defeated Pomona-Pitzer, 64-51, Friday night at Cal Lutheran, clinching its third Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship in four seasons.
Nicole Sanchez scored 15 points and Missy Rider added 14 for the Regals (15-7, 10-1), who overcame a 37-30 second-half deficit.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
Brigham Young 5, Pepperdine 4--No. 1 doubles team Zsofia Csapo and Angela Lawrence won their match, 8-3, for 10th-ranked Pepperdine (4-4) before 14th-ranked Brigham Young (5-1) came back to win the next two doubles matches for the victory in the USTA/ITA Women’s National Indoor Team Tennis Championships in Madison, Wis.
MEN’S TENNIS
Illinois 4, Pepperdine 2--The No. 1 doubles team of Robert Lindstedt and Kelly Gullett and the No. 3 doubles team of Mike Jessup and Hide Sakamoto each won their matches for Pepperdine (10-1) in the ITA Men’s National Indoor Team Championships in Louisville, Ky.
MEN’S SWIMMING
Valley 76, Rio Hondo 15--Pete Driscoll and Mike Scarcelli each won two individual events and teamed in a relay victory for Valley (2-0, 1-0) in a Western State Conference meet at Valley.
WOMEN’S SWIMMING
Valley 93, Rio Hondo 36--Stephanie Hammer won three individual events and anchored a relay victory, and Liana Kishimoto won two individual events and teamed in the same relay victory for Valley (2-0, 1-0) in a Western State Conference meet at Valley.
