Los Ninos Park to Be Improved
Improvements to Parque de los Ninos in the Atwood community are expected to get underway this month.
The City Council recently awarded a $104,102 contract to Wakeham-Baker Inc. of Anaheim for the park renovations.
Residents of Atwood, a mostly Latino community south of Orangethorpe Avenue, have long awaited the park’s improvements, which will include new playground equipment, handicap-accessible surfacing, drainage and irrigation upgrades and landscaping.
Renovations, to be completed by late May, will be paid for with city park development funds and county urban grant money, city officials said.
