* Garden Grove at Sonora, 7 tonight: A Division II-A first-round matchup of second-place teams. Sonora (16-7), from the Freeway League, has been banged up most of the season, but Sarah Fister and Brandi Davis are quality players. Garden Grove is 17-10.

* Canyon at Tustin, 7 p.m. Saturday: Tustin (21-4) has won 13 of its last 14 and Canyon is 23-3. The Tillers have a strong post player in Brook Brown (15.5 points, 14.6 rebounds) and three-point threat in Susana Jara (36%). Canyon counters with a balanced, deep lineup.
