YEAR: Senior
SPORT: Basketball
SEASON AT A GLANCE: Moore, a 6-foot-7 center, led La Canada to its 11th consecutive Rio Hondo League championship with averages of 24.9 points and 8.6 rebounds. He holds the school record for career points with 1,567, eclipsing the old mark of 1,479 set by Chad Givens. La Canada is seeded third in the Southern Section Division III-AA playoffs, which begin Friday.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Moor set a school record with 51 points in a 83-70 victory over Monrovia and followed it with 37 points and 12 rebounds in a 70-57 victory over Temple City that clinched the league title and avenged the Spartans’ only league defeat.
GIRLS
Megan Daly
SCHOOL: Westlake
YEAR: Senior
SPORT: Soccer
SEASON AT A GLANCE: Daly has emerged as one of the region’s best forwards since moving to California from Massachusetts at the start of her sophomore year. She has scored 45 goals the past two seasons and was a member of The Times’ All-Region second team as a junior. “There’s nobody as fast as her in (the Marmonte) League,” Westlake Coach Tahn Hyun said.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: In two games against Royal and another against Camarillo, Daly had seven goals and four assists. The Warriors finished second in the Marmonte League, a point behind Simi Valley. Daly has 25 goals and 17 assists this season.
