Grinnell set an NCAA record with 13 players making three-point baskets Saturday in a 104-73 Midwest Conference victory over Monmouth at Monmouth, Ill.
The Pioneers attempted 76 shots from three-point range, three shy of their Division III record, and made 25--five shy of their record.
The previous college record for most players making three-point baskets in one game was 11, set by St. Mary’s of Maryland on Jan. 21, 1994, against Bard College.
The Division I mark is nine by Dartmouth and the Division II record is 10 by Troy State.
Jeff Clement scored 25 points, including seven three-point baskets, for the Pioneers (9-11, 4-7). Monmouth (12-8, 9-3) made only one of 11 three-point tries.
